Christ Ultrapure Water AG, subsidiary of Christ Water Technology Group, was awarded a large order from RWE Power for the supply of a turnkey water treatment plant for the power plant project “RWE Neurath”.
RWE Power commenced construction work in January 2006 for the erection and the operation of two power plant blocks in Neurath. Investments total roughly EUR 2.2 billion. The construction works will last roughly 4 years allowing expected start of operations of the plants in the year 2010.
In May 2005, Christ Ultrapure Water AG has received orders for the demineralization and condensate polishing for blocks F and G for the engineering and now in April 2006 also for the supply, assembly and start of operation of the two units.
The demineralization plant has 2 lines with a performance of 2 x 250 m3/h and will be realized with flushing bed technology. The installation comprises the two full demineralization lines, the regeneration unit, chemicals storage as well as neutralisation. The condensate plant consisting of security cartridge filters, externally regenerated mixed bed exchangers (CHRIST-MOVEX) and other units will be realized in 3 lines. The nominal output of this unit is 3 x 1350 m3/h.
In the year 2005, detail planning was completed, in 2007 the mounting of the large components will be implemented. Start of operations of the two water treatment systems is planned for the year 2010. The two units will be supplied on a turnkey basis by Christ Ultrapure Water AG to RWE Neurath.
