A major European contractor for power stations has awarded Christ Ultrapure Water AG, a subsidiary of the Christ Water Technology Group, a multi-million order for a large seawater desalination plant for the production of drinking water, process water and demineralised water for the gas turbine of a power station in the gulf region.

The project includes process design, detail design, delivery of the seawater desalination unit, a complete drinking water unit and a demineralization plant including regeneration station and storage of chemicals completed by erection and commissioning on-site.

The seawater desalination unit for a power station in the Middle East is planned with 2 trains and will have a capacity of over 3000 m3/day including a subsequent demineralisation stage. Both demineralisation stages are based on Reverse Osmosis technology.

The erection of the major components will take place in spring 2007. Commissioning and start-up of the water treatment systems is planned for mid-2007.

Christ Ultrapure Water AG will act as the integrated turnkey solutions provider with overall responsibility for the project.
