Christ Kennicott Water Technology Ltd, a member of the Christ Water Technology Group are continuing to build on their success in Ireland after winning a contract to supply both the water and the wastewater treatment plant for the new 400 MW CCGT power plant currently being built by GE/GAMA POWER SYSTEMS in Tynagh, Co. Galway, Ireland.
The water treatment plant comprises state-of-the-art technology with two 10m3/h twin pass Reverse Osmosis trains feeding two Electro-deionisation plants providing very high quality demineralised water ( < 0.1 µS conductivity ) with minimal consumption of chemicals.
The integrated wastewater treatment plant is designed to treat all the station’s waste streams and includes the following processes:
- Oil Removal using a CPI system to reduce free oil down to acceptable discharge limits.
- Oxidation of Ammonia.
- Mixing and pH adjustment to meet discharge consents.
This contract helps consolidate our leading position in the provision of engineered water treatment systems to the power market in Ireland. Other recent projects in Ireland include West Offaly Power Station, Lough Ree Power Station and Coolkeragh Power Station in Northern Ireland.
